Apparently Hands on a Hard Body has been legally posted, in its entirety, to Google Video. (Wikipedia) You should really find a couple hours and watch it. On the surface the movie looks completely uninteresting- I was pretty much kicking and screaming when I was dragged into watching it. But it is the most compelling documentary I’ve ever seen. After a few minutes, you absolutely Must Know What Happens. (This is quintessential Long Tail, by the way- small market for documentaries, particularly ones that look weird on the surface, meant this never made it to DVD. But now anyone can watch it if they are interested.) (via kottke)

woo! I remember seeing HoaHB in Austin many years ago. It is indeed an excellent documentary.
awesome doc! it’s on DVD but outta print. I’ve been itching to see it, but looks like it’s removed from google video.
I was 3/4 through it (great so far) but now I’m getting this message: “We’re sorry, but this video may not be available. ”
Hopefully it’s just temporary.
Seems to be removed.
It is on DVD. I just requested it at the local public library.
Yes, I remember watching it on DVD rented from a video store in 1999 or 2000. However, I was in Texas — it might not be commonly carried in video stores elsewhere.
I watched this with my wife, who was born and raised in Texas, and who felt the whole time like she’d been transported back to her childhood. Afterwards, she decided to retaliate, and whipped out “The Dancing Outlaw” (google will reveal all). I’m not sure whether to thank you or curse you.
