A couple of you crazy far, far southerners have been posting about the recent ruling on linking. I found this post (by an Australian IP law prof) to be a really good summary, both linking to what other people have been saying, and analyzing the ruling itself. Her bottom line: if you’re not creating a portal whose entire purpose for being is linking to mp3s, you’re probably OK to continue linking. She has problems with the ruling (discussed in a different post) but seems to be reassuring that this is not the end of the world.
