very slightly more on the defense of necessity

I mentioned yesterday that we read a torture case as part of my criminal law class’s reading on the defense of necessity. Today in class the professor suggested reading ‘Cannibalism and the Common Law.’ Cannibalism, torture- all in a day’s work for a law student, apparently.

[In case you’re wondering what cannibalism has to do with anything that could possibly be useful in a modern criminal court, read the brief but interesting wikipedia article on the case in question. But only if you have a strong stomach.]
